Clara Rundell

Clara pursues a career as a freelance musician based in Manchester. She is passionate about many different forms of music making and spends her time teaching, conducting and performing.

Clara loves singing. She performed with the BBC Proms Youth Choir at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the 2019 BBC Proms series. She is also passionate about music education and teaches the cello and piano at the Music Place in Altrincham as well as having private students.

Clara received a first-class bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Manchester, where she studied conducting with Robert Guy and was selected for the prestigious conducting training programme. Through this programme she conducted several ensembles including Ad Solem Chamber Choir, the Cosmo Singers, the University of Manchester Chorus and the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra. In September 2019 Clara was appointed as Musical Director for Hallam Choral Society and Knutsford Youth Orchestra.

She also studied the cello with Jennifer Langridge, and was principal cellist of Stockport Youth Orchestra, Hallé Youth Orchestra and the University of Manchester Symphony Orchestra. She performs regularly with the Eskandari String Quartet and a number of ensembles in and around Manchester.
