We made Karl Orff’s Carmina Burana look easy in our latest concert on 10 December, but up until the penultimate rehearsal we were wondering if we should cut some of the trickier bits. Mind you, that’s part of the fun(?) of preparing a piece for performance. It gives learning and rehearsing a definite edge.
It’s certainly fun performing for such a healthy and appreciative audience. We took over £900 in tickets and donations for the drinks and snacks which choir members provided for the after-concert socialising. As a voluntary choir we’re not in it to make money, of course. However, we do need some cash to keep the show on the road, on top of the subscriptions we pay. So, many thanks to those who paid to hear us, donated towards refreshments – and applauded heartily!
